Get Adobe Acrobat Reader

Browser HelpWe hope to make this an easy site to use and find your way around. If you are a first time visitor or are having difficulty using the site the subjects below should help you.

Downloading Documents from the Website

On some pages, there are documents that you can download. These are all in 'PDF' (portable document format).

You will need some free software called Adobe Acrobat Reader to be able to view the PDFs.

Most computers come with Acrobat Reader already installed, but if you don't have it, you can download the latest free version from the Adobe website:

Accessibility

We have redesigned this website to comply with Accessibility standards as much as possible. Our aim is for the site to comply with Priority 2 (Level AA) checkpoints of the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

This website has been tested on Internet Explorer 5, 6 and the new version 7. It has also been tested on Firefox.

We will continue to try to improve the accessibility of the website, and your feedback is important to us for this.

Links

This website includes links to other pages on this site in:

  1. the menu, if the page is within the same section

  2. the Related Pages box, if the page is another section of the website.

Most links to external sites will be in the Other Websites box on the majority of our pages.

Any text with a link is underlined. If you hover your mouse over a link your cursor will change to a hand symbol and the text will turn purple. When you click the link its 'target' will open, usually in the place of the web page you have clicked.

If you want to open a link in a different browser window, right-click it with your mouse and select 'Open in new window' or 'tab'.

Safari Browser Help

We are aware, some customers are having issues booking on on our website.
Our booking system is powered by 'Spektrix'.

We have received feedback from customers about the difficulties they are having, which are often reported by iPhone users, but also have an impact on those using Safari on a Mac or an iPad. These issues are caused by how Safari interacts with Cookies set by Spektrix.

There have been two main issues taking place, either being redirected or being prompted with a ‘Cookie Message’. We have resolved the first of these, and are actively working to resolve the second. Safari is built on top of a technology called Webkit, which in turn uses technology called Intelligent Tracking Prevention (ITP). You can find more info on this on Webkit’s site here. Both of the issues are related to this technology.

We want to ensure that any customer using the latest version of any major browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Edge, including their mobile equivalents in iOS and Android) is able to purchase tickets without having to alter any default browser settings. This is a continuing challenge as browsers change their technologies and default settings, but an important challenge for us to meet.

We know that there are still problems for some Safari users at the moment, especially for those customers who visit sites of multiple Spektrix venues. We need to find a way to:

  • Allow Safari bookers to book tickets without having to change any default settings.
  • Make sure that any changes necessary for Safari require as little intervention as possible from your web team to implement.

We’re actively exploring options in order to find a solution for this issue. For example, Webkit provides a tool which is designed to allow iframes to request access to the same cookies they would have access to as a first-party site. We’re currently investigating whether this will work as a solution to the issues we’re seeing, and what changes we might need to make to our iframes in order to implement it. We want to make sure any changes we make require as little intervention as possible from your web team to implement - and we’ll keep you updated as we know more.

In the immediate term, we’re also changing the wording of the Cookie Message to make it clearer to customers what they have to do on Safari and why. In the interim here is some advice.

  • You can try using Private Mode in Safari when booking, which should help avoid getting stuck on the Cookies message.
  • If this doesn’t work, you can disable the ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ setting while they’re booking with you and then turn it straight back on afterwards.
  • Spektrix do not track customers across the internet; the only need for the ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ setting to be switched off is to enable cookies to be set for the purpose of facilitating a transaction.
  • Please be reassured Spektrix are working on a long term solution for this.
