INTRODUCTION
Eastbourne Bandstand is an outdoor music venue, set on Eastbourne Beach and is one of the South Coasts most popular outdoor venues.
We offer a warm welcome to everyone and aim to offer an excellent level of service to all our customers. We really want you to enjoy your time with us so if anything happens while you are at Eastbourne Bandstand, please speak to one of our staff and ask to speak to the Duty Manager who will deal with your queries as best they can.
All front-line staff have undertaken accessibility training and will do their best to ensure your visit is both enjoyable and safe.

THE VENUE
Eastbourne Bandstand is a multi-level venue with a maximum licenced capacity of 1600. The main arena can hold a maximum of 700 for a seated event. The middle balcony can hold a maximum of 600 and the upper balcony (no disabled access) can seat a maximum of 300. It must be noted these are maximums and maybe be reduced depending on the type of event and audience profile expected.
CAR PARKING
There are four disabled parking bays directly above Eastbourne Bandstand on Grand Parade HOWEVER, to access a slope from these bays is a distance of 200m. Alternatively standard car parking bays are near the slopes.
Many of our customers park in the Wish Tower Car Park; where there is level access to either the Main Arena Level or Balcony Level at a distance of about 400m. The Wish Tower car park is a small 24 hour car park; with free parking for blue badge holders and free to everyone after 6pm.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND DROP OFF TAXI
If travelling by Taxi please ask your driver to drop you at one of the nearest slopes or at the Wish Tower Car Park.

BUILDING ENTRANCES
Eastbourne Bandstand is a three floor venue. Access for wheelchair-users is via the promenades; lower and middle.
If you have any special access requirements please let us know in advance.

GETTING AROUND
Once inside the building there is level access through-out that level (Main Arena or Middle Balcony). Please note: the Upper Balcony is only accessible via steps and is tiered, once on this level.

SEATING
In the Main Arena we have canvas director type chairs all other areas have plastic seats.
All seating at all events (except airshow seats) are not allocated; you choose your seat when you arrive. If you have a wheelchair we will simply remove one of the chairs to create a space for the wheelchair, this will enable you to enjoy the event with the group or partner you are attending with.
Unfortunately due to the nature of the building and some events, we are unable to accommodate mobility scooters within the venue. We ask customers to park their scooters at the designated area just outside the entrance (please ask an steward to direct you to the area) and walk to your seat. Assistance is always on hand to help you.
PERSONAL ASSISTANT TICKET
Personal Assistant Tickets are offered free of charge to those who require a companion to assist them in accessing the facilities at Eastbourne Bandstand. (having a disability as defined by The Equality Act 2010).
Who is the personal assistant ticket not for? The ticket is not available to, or intended for, those who simply require a companion to assist with transportation to and from the venue, or to keep them company. The ticket is not offered to anyone who can cope independently in a public venue. Please click HERE to register for Personal Assistant ticket.
ENTRY
We open the doors 1 hour or ½ before the event (depending on the events) this helps to avoid queuing for long periods.
You can also come and visit the venue when there is nothing on if you think it would be helpful to familiarise yourself with the building before you attend an event.

PUBLIC TELEPHONE
There is no public telephone on site. There is a phone at the Seafront Office (Bandstand Box Office) that can be used in an emergency or to book taxis for disabled visitors; please just ask a member of staff.

ASSISTANCE DOGS
We welcome registered assistance dogs and a bowl of water can be provided if requested.

ACCESSIBLE TOILETS/BABY CHANGING AREAS
All our toilets are outside the main venue
Public toilets are on the middle level, 20p is required to access these (free for concert goers at weekends).
Accessible toilets are available on the Main Arena and Middle balcony levels; these are free to use and are accessible with a National R.A.D.A.R. Key. If you do not have one of these keys a member of staff will be happy to unlock the toilet for you alternatively you can purchase your own key from the Seafront Office.
Changing Places is available on the middle balcony level. The Key is available from the Seafront Office. We also run a FREE membership scheme for members of the public who visit regular. Please enquire at the Seafront Office

FIRE ALARMS
The fire alarms give an audible warning only. There is no visual display. A member of staff will assist in the event of a fire alarm. If you are unlikely to be able to hear the alarms or will need assistance to exit the building if the fire alarm sounds, please tell a member of staff on your arrival.

STAFF TRAINING
All staff have a programme of core training, which includes customer care, diversity and disability awareness. They are here to help customers enjoy the time they spend at Eastbourne Bandstand.
