The 1812 and Proms Firework Concert is a traditional concert that has been performed in Eastbourne for over 40 years and culminates with a spectacular firework display.

The Band must be made up of a balanced combination and a minimum of 21 players (22 including the conductor)

The National Anthem must be played at the start of the concert.

Programme must end with a finale of:-

  • Fantasia on British Sea Songs

  • Jerusalem

  • Pomp and Circumstance March No 1

  • Tchaikowsky’s 1812 Overture, as arranged by Denis Wright.  (If you would prefer to play a woodwind version, this must be the arrangement by Jaeger).

No further items are to be played after the 1812 Overture. This will be set to fireworks. (If you have a band march or signature tune for the Band, please play this before the finale.)

The concert should start at 8pm prompt and finish at 10.00pm with one ten or fifteen minute interval.

A musical programme must be submitted at least 2 weeks before each performance. This will enable us to produce a programme for the concert goers and report to Performing Rights Society.
